There is a difference between simple hand washing and washing your hands to protect yourself from the virus. You may not be protected from the virus if you wash the soap off your hands immediately after applying soap. UNICEF has suggested some ways in this regard. They are-
Step 1: Wet your hands with running water.
Step 2: Apply soap all over your wet hands
Step 3: Rub the front and back of the hand vigorously, between the fingers and underneath the tips of the nails for at least 20 seconds.
Step 4: Wash off your hands thoroughly with running water.
Step 5: Wipe your hands with a clean cloth or a single-use towel.
So whether it is soap, hand wash, or sanitizer, follow this hygiene to keep yourself and others safe.
