What can I do to increase the body’s immune system?

When our body is attacked by any kind of disease-germ or virus-bacteria, then our body’s immunity protects the body from them. So, the better the immune system, the lower the risk of disease. Part of the immunity we acquire at birth and the rest depends on our lifestyle. Therefore, to increase the immunity of the body, it is very important to follow the following rules. These are:

  • Avoid smoking and any other kind of intoxicants. If you are a smoker, you are more likely to get any disease than a non-smoker.
  • Eat healthy food. Eat more vegetables, fruits, and fibrous foods instead of oily, fatty, and spicy foods. It is better to eat less sugary foods. It is better not to consume too much tea and coffee.
  • Physical work should be done every day. Regular brisk walking for half an hour is very good exercise for the body.
  • Keep your weight under control.
  • Reduce stress. Apart from work, giving time to family and friends or doing some kind of hobby helps manage stress.
  • It is important to control blood pressure. High blood pressure lowers the body’s immune system.
  • Get enough sleep. The amount of sleep can decrease with age. But to stay healthy it is very important to sleep at least 6 to 8 hours every day.
  • Keep yourself clean. Frequent hand washing with soapy water or sanitizing hands with sanitizer is an essential habit for staying healthy. Touching the eyes and mouth, picking the nose – such habits should be given up. Bad habits like spitting should be avoided wherever possible.

 

By following these rules, our body can develop better resistance against diseases. And we can live a healthy life.
